Somethin' Instead of Cereal

Today was election day and we had OFF from school!! Normally I would have slept until lunch, but today I woke up feeling like I had to make something delicious for breakfast. Mom was up early writing- as usual. I asked her if I could make something other than cereal for breakfast.
I have this great little cookbook called The Everything Kids' Cookbook, by Sandra K. Nissenberg, M.S., R.D. (whatever that means). The recipe in the picture is The Cinnamon Breakfast Cake. The recipe called for flour, and I couldn't find any white flour, so I used the whole wheat kind. I thought that it would turn out bad because of the tweak in ingredients, but according to the "reviews" the flour just made it better. I also made scrambled eggs, but I guess there's nothing really special about them.

Today it was really rainy outside and we had a Bounce U birthday party to go to. And, being me, I chose to wear crocs. My socks got all wet because I like to step in puddles. The birthday was really fun. The second room that we went into had a HUGE slide that I slid down a couple thousand times. The helper turned out the lights and everything that was white started to glow. They handed out necklaces that glow in the dark and also bracelets. There were giant basketballs and my best friend and I went in an obstacle course starting from the finish line, so we had to attempt jumping up a really slippery slide. It's true. Then we decided to sneak up on people, even though that didn't really work out. We were hiding in mini tunnels and no one was in the same bounce place as we were so all we were "sneaking up" on was thin air.

This was my first blog. I got carried away finding proper colors for certain words
What did you do on your day off from school?

  1. Isabella, that cake was deee-licious! I didn't know what to expect when I saw that it was made with whole wheat, but it had a subtle sweetness and a delicate nutlike flavor. Yum!
